Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves Review: The Best On The Market For Arthritis?

Discovering compression gloves, for me, was a miracle. These products are so simple yet are one of the most effective ways of dealing with the symptoms and pain from a wide range of hand conditions - in my case, rheumatoid arthritis.

I’ve been a rheumatoid arthritis sufferer for many years now, with the condition mostly affecting my wrist and fingers. Without compression gloves, doing even the simplest of daily tasks and chores becomes very difficult. With them, though, I can regain dexterity and independence in everyday life.

But not all compression gloves are designed for arthritis, and certainly, not all do their job as well as promised. I’ve found that it takes a bit of experimentation to find the one that’s right for you and your specific condition, but also that listening to other people’s experiences helped a lot in finding the right pair.

But first, a little bit about rheumatoid arthritis

The symptoms caused by rheumatoid arthritis are different from osteoarthritis. The latter, is caused by the wear and tear of joints. Pain from rheumatoid arthritis comes from an autoimmune reaction that leads to inflammation of your joints, often in small joints of your body like hands and fingers or ankles and feet.

Finding a pair of compression gloves that soothes these tissues is the trick.

What treatment options are there for rheumatoid arthritis?

There are a few options sufferers of rheumatoid arthritis have for treatment. First up is medication. Disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs tcan help with the symptoms and prevent worsening of the disease. These are often prescribed with biological treatments, painkillers, sometimes surgery. Supports and braces are a go-to for many rheumatoid arthritis patients to manage pain and provide additional support to affected joints.

The major benefit of many compression and support therapy which patients get from braces, splints, and  compression gloves is that they are non-invasive solutions. This means that they can be taken alongside other RA treatments like medicine without issues.

Life with the Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves

Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves worked incredibly well for me, especially throughout COVID. Leading into 2022, when remote working became the norm and we spent most of our time behind the computer, working really took its toll on my hands. Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves helped by seriously limiting the amount of pain I feel in my hands, minimizing inflammation and allowing me to carry out daily tasks easier.

Have I tried other brands? Sure. But there’s a reason why I keep coming back to my trusty pair of Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves.

Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves: A Review

Dr. Arthritis is a  highly reviewed, well-known brand in the space that offers a huge range of hand, wrist, knee, and other supportive/compression products. In fact, Healthline listed the exact product I’ve been using as the best overall compression gloves in 2022. Let’s go over some of the smaller details:

Easy & comfortable to wear

One of the best things about Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves is that they’re so easy to wear. They easily slip on and off, and they’re so comfortable to wear. In fact, I’ve never had a situation where I had to take it off because they were becoming itchy, too hot to wear, or just generally uncomfortable. I find myself wearing them for most of the day and even wear them to bed to help minimize swelling and stiffness in my fingers in the morning.

Washable

Another major benefit of these gloves is their durability. They’re completely machine washable, meaning that I simply need to toss them in with the rest of my washing after having worn them for a while. To complement this, I’ve bought a couple of pairs so I can have a constant rotation of fresh gloves.

One of the lesser-known benefits of being machine washable is that all compression gloves will stretch over time when wearing them. If the gloves stretch too far, they lose their effectiveness. The Dr. Arthritis Compression Gloves retain their compression well – so there’s no need to worry about stretching out your gloves or shrinking them.

Reduce swelling & pain

These gloves have been designed by a team of certified medical doctors. Their expertise and knowledge is evident in every pair of  compression gloves I’ve tried from the brand and as a result, they’re one of the best options for anyone who suffers from most forms of arthritis. While wearing them, the swelling and pain from my RA are reduced significantly.

An everyday companion

After having used them for a while now, I can truly say that my go-to pair of compression gloves are those that were made by Dr. Arthritis. Dr. Arthritis gloves tick all the boxes I need from a pair of good compression gloves for arthritis and have become an essential for my daily routine--whether I’m going out for a day of shopping or staying at home working.
